Vendormate Eases Compliance Burden for Healthcare Vendors

Atlanta, GA February 19, 2008 – For healthcare vendor representatives struggling to keep pace with the documentation requirements of individual healthcare systems and hospitals, Vendormate enhances its vendor representative “document briefcase” with new training opportunities and enhanced credential management. Through a new partnership with Medcom/Trainex, healthcare vendor representatives registered with a Vendormate client hospital can receive training in 6 commonly required topics. The partnership delivers web-based training, tuition savings, and automatically adds the certifications to the rep’s stored credentials.

“Many hospitals require any person entering sensitive areas, such as operating rooms or cath labs, to complete training in common procedures, such as infectious disease control and bloodborne pathogens,” said Bill Hayes, Vendormate COO. “Healthcare vendor representatives who enter these restricted areas are also required to be trained. Until now, representatives would have to carry proof of training with printed certificates or cards to each hospital.”

MedCom Trainex classes address applicable regulations and recommendations from leading healthcare and government agencies, such as AORN, CDC, and OSHA. Available classes include:

  • Orientation to the Operating Room for the Sales Professional
  • HIPAA: A guide for Healthcare Workers
  • Infection control: Bloodborne Safety
  • The Control of Infectious Diseases
  • Electrical Safety
  • Fire Safety

Vendormate creates a virtual “document briefcase” for each registered representative containing information that hospitals require, such as contact information, employer information, product portfolio, and documentation. Once a representative enters this information, the representative can choose to share this data automatically with all their clients that use a Vendormate-based solution, greatly simplifying the burden to manage credentials.

With this announcement, Vendormate expands the contents of the document briefcase with certifications. Now after completing any of the courses, reps can store the MedCom/Trainex certifications in their personal Vendormate profile and share it with any hospital the rep serves that uses a Vendormate-based compliance management solution. Representatives no longer need to carry a card in their wallets or re-enter data in individual hospital systems.
